So süß ist die Qual, die im Herzen ich trage, dass glücklich ich lebe der grausamen Schönheit. Mag am Himmel der Schönheit auch Hochmut erblühen, Barmherzigkeit fehlen, stets fest wie ein Fels in der Brandung des Hochmuts wird steh’n meine Treu. Ein trügerisch Hoffen verwirrt meine Schritte, nicht Freude noch Friede kommen auf mich herab. Die Grausame, die ich liebe, verwehrt das Erbarmen: Zwischen endlosem Weh und vergeblichem Hoffen lebt fort meine Treu. Im Brennen, im Frieren find ich keine Ruh. Im Hafen des Himmels werd Ruhe ich finden. Wenn der tödliche Schuss eines harten Pfeils das Herz mir durchbohrt, wird mein Los sich ändern, mit dem Pfeil des Todes wird mein Herz genesen. Wenn dies grausame Herz, das mein Herz mir genommen, die Flamme der Liebe noch niemals verspürte, wenn die grausame Schöne, die mich verwirrte, kein Mitleid empfindet, so kann es doch sein, dass sie in Reue und Pein, eines Tags nach mir seufzt.
