Freundlich kommst du angezogen, Freundlich schwebst du himmelwärts, Glitzernd durch des Äthers Wogen, Strahlst du Hoffnung in das Herz. Wie in schäumenden Pokalen Traubenpurpur muthig schwellt, So durchleuchten deine Strahlen Die erwachte Frühlingswelt. Wie im herrlichen Geschiebe Sich des Goldes Pracht verschließt, So erglänz'st du, Stern der Liebe, Der den Morgen still begrüßt. Und es treibt dich nach den Sternen Hell im Dunkel zu erglüh'n. Über Berge, über Fernen Möcht' ich einmal mit dir ziehn. Faß't mich, faß't mich heil'ge Strahlen, Schlingt um mich das goldne Band, Daß ich aus den Erdenqualen Fliehe in ein glücklich Land. Doch ich kann dich nicht erfassen, Nicht erreichen, stehst so fern! - Kann ich von der Sehnsucht lassen? Darf ich's, heil'ger Himmelsstern?

Estel de l’amor, imatge resplendent, fulgurant, com la núvia del cel, et mous a través dels camps de llum, anunciant que el dia apunta. Afectuós, arribes abillat, afable, sures vers el cel, centellejant, travesses les ones de l’èter, envies raigs d’esperança al cor. Tal com en el grandiós rocam s’amaga l’esplendor de l’or, així brilles tu, estel de l’amor, quan silent saludes el matí. I t’empeny vers les estrelles, per refulgir lluminós en la foscúria. Més enllà de les muntanyes, de la llunyania voldria poder anar amb tu. Preneu-me, preneu-me, raigs sagrats, lligueu-me amb la cinta daurada, perquè dels sofriments de la terra pugui fugir vers un país benaurat. Però no et puc agafar, no et puc abastar, ets tan lluny! – Podré desistir d’aquest desig? Em serà permès, estel sagrat del cel?
