Puisse sentir d’amour quelque vive estincelle:
J’amortisse l’ardeur qui tousjours me bourrelle.

O gods, grant me, o grant me that she
Language: English  after the French (Français)
O gods, grant me, o grant me that she
Who causes my grief, and who with her lovely eyes
Wildly tears away the best from what good I have,
Might feel some lively spark of love:
O gods, please grant that with her
I might taste the delicious fruits of love,
So that, repaying my tedious trials,
I might lessen the ardour which always torments me.
May we, she and I, naked between the sheets,
Side by side, mouth to mouth, wrapped in each other’s arms,
Enjoy the naughtiest acts of love.
And when tired of love’s treats
I must pass into eternal night,
May I die in a sweet kiss from her dainty lips.
