Adieu
Language: French (Français)
Our translations:  ENG
Un vertige épars sous tes voiles
Tentant mon front vers tes bras nus !
Adieu, toi, par qui je connus
L’angoisse des nuits sans étoiles !

Et quoi ! Ton nom me fit pâlir !

Farewell
Language: English  after the French (Français)
Dizziness beneath your veils
Tempts my brow into your bare arms!
Farewell, you, from whom I know
The anguish of starless nights!

And what! Your name made me pale!
Today without desires or fears,
I want to be hidden no more
In the vile langour of your embraces!

I breathe the air of the shores,
I am happy far from your doorstep,
And your hair the color of mourning
No longer makes shadows over my dreams.
