by Adam Asnyk (1838 - 1897)
Translation by Izabella Arkadyevna Grinyevskaya (1864 - 1942)

Jednego serca! tak mało! tak mało
Language: Polish (Polski)
Jednego serca! tak mało! tak mało,
Jednego serca trzeba mi na ziemi!
Coby przy mojem miłością zadrżało:
A byłbym cichym pomiędzy cichemi...

Jedynych ust trzeba! skąd bym wieczność całą
Pił napój szczęścia ustami mojemi,
I oczu dwoje, gdzieby, patrzył śmiało,
Widząc się świętym pomiędzy świętemi.

Jednego serca i rąk białych dwoje!
Coby mi oczy zasłoniły moje,
Bym zasnął słodko, marząc o aniele,

Który mnie niesie w objęciach nieba...
Jednego serca! tak mało mi trzeba,
A jednak widzę, że żądam za wiele!

Lish` serdcza odnogo
Language: Russian (Русский)  after the Polish (Polski)
Lish` serdcza odnogo, -- tak malo, ax tak malo, --
Lish` serdcza odnogo na svete nado mne,
Chtob bliz menya ono lyubov`yu trepetalo...
Mezh tiximi togda ya zhil by' v tishine.

Mne nado ust takix, chtob ya, kak iz fiala,
Mog schast`e vechno pit` iz nix, kak v rajskom sne,
I glaz, chtoby' dusha moya v nix utopala
V ix chudnoj, v ix svyatoj blazhennoj glubine.

Lish` serdcza odnogo, ruki chtob veki nezhno,
Ustaly'x glaz moix zakry'la mne ona,
I mne by' grezilsya moj angel belosnezhny'j,

I mne by' chudilas` lazuri glubina.
Lish` serdcza odnogo vsegda molil u Boga.
Tak malo! No i to, ya vizhu, slishkom mnogo.

Confirmed with Изабелла Гриневская, Стихотворения, С.-Петербург, Типо-Литография В. М. Вольфа, Разъезжая 15, 1904, page 122. Note: the archaic characters 'ѣ' and 'i' have been modernized to 'е' and 'и' respectively, and the hard signs 'ъ' at the end of words have been removed, following the spelling reform of 1917-1918.
