Tuman serebristyj polzet nad rekoj, Priroda ob"jata molčan'em i t'moj. Rybak molodoj bliz temnejuščich vod Sidit i čut' slyšnuju pesnju poët.. „O, deva rečnaja, ty vyjdi ko mne, „Menja prilaskaj, rasceluj pri lun; „Ja znaju, ty duch, a ja smertnyj prostoj. „Tebja utomja, utomljusja s toboj... „V gorjačich ob"jatijach ja dušu otdam, „No čudnyj razskaz ty poveriš' volnam... „Uznajut oni, kak nema i bledna, „Glaza zakativši, ty strasti polna „So mnoj zamirala, i dolgo potom „Ty budeš' vzdychat' o svidan'e nočnom!“ Vychodit rusalka na bereg krutoj, Na bereg, oblityj privetnoj lunoj. Čto bylo, ne znaju. Na utro v pyli Chladejuščij trup poseljane našli... Obvit on byl prjad'ju zelënych kudrej I žemčuga niti drožali na nej.
