Rybak molodoj bliz temnejushchikh vod Sidit i chut' slyshnuju pesnju pojot.. „O, deva rechnaja, ty vyjdi ko mne, „Menja prilaskaj, rasceluj pri lun; „Ja znaju, ty dukh, a ja smertnyj prostoj. „Tebja utomja, utomljusja s toboj... „V gorjachikh ob"jatijakh ja dushu otdam, „No chudnyj razskaz ty poverish' volnam... „Uznajut oni, kak nema i bledna, „Glaza zakativshi, ty strasti polna „So mnoj zamirala, i dolgo potom „Ty budesh' vzdykhat' o svidan'e nochnom!“ Vykhodit rusalka na bereg krutoj, Na bereg, oblityj privetnoj lunoj. Chto bylo, ne znaju. Na utro v pyli Khladejushchij trup poseljane nashli... Obvit on byl prjad'ju zeljonykh kudrej I zhemchuga niti drozhali na nej.
