Lavečka
Language: Moravian (Moravština)
Available translation(s): ENG
Ta naša lavečka,
aj už sa polámala,
co sem se synečkem,
aj na ni sedávala.
Byla to lavečka,
aj z dřeva olšového,
byl ten můj syneček
srdenka falešného.
Ta naša lavečka,
na dvě sa rozdělila,
že naše srdenka
obě dvě rozlůčila.
Ty naša lavečko,
aj zrůstni sa mi ešče,
starodávný galán,
aj navrat' sa mi ešče!

The Bench
Language: English  after the Moravian (Moravština)
That little bench of ours
is broken now, I’m afraid,
that I used to sit on
so many times with my lad.
That bench, well it was made,
out of good old alder wood,
as for that lad of mine,
o, an untrue heart he had.
That little bench of ours
in twain alas is now split
because it drove our hearts,
the both of them, far apart.
O little bench of ours,
o do mend yourself again,
o my lover of old,
o come back to me again!
