Piano si posa la rugiada nel bosco, dolcemente il grigio del crepuscolo si insinua nel rosso riflesso delle acque tranquille e nel verde dei prati e dei cespugli, la cui bellezza inebria lo sguardo. Guarda! Il volo notturno dei corvi si posa frusciando sulle querce in lontananza. Un balsamico aroma si respira nell’aria. Il canto magico di Filomela tutt’intorno riecheggia. Ascolta! Il suoni delle campane del Vespro Esortano solenni i figli della terra a volgere i cuori verso il cielo, Meditando sulla bellezza di quella dimora, abbandonando le abitudini della vita terrena. In alto, superando la barriera di nuvole, Brillano mille sigilli celesti, Il volto della Luna si riflette dolcemente Nello specchio limpido delle acque Diffondendo una luce dorata su colline e su prati. Il riflesso della luna piena fa luccicare a tratti il muschio sul tetto della chiesetta. Ma un velo di tristezza sopra tanta bellezza discende dalle lapidi che coprono tutt’intorno le ossa dei defunti. Riposate, o amati, dai dolori fino al giorno della Resurrezione. Dal buio della notte Il potere di Dio ci chiamerà alla luce; A godere, nel cielo, delle delizie eterne.
