låt all min håg buga djupt vid din dörr
i en enda hyllning åt dig!
Låt alla fröjdetoner blandas i min sista sång,

Then — let all my spreading senses widen...
Language: English  after the Swedish (Svenska)

Then — let all my spreading senses widen in one united homage to thee, my God!
Let them be touching this earthy world
on which thy feet are resting.
As a rain-cloud in summer
is hanging low with its burden of undelivered showers,
let all my mind deep bend down at thy door
in one united homage to thee!
Let all the strains of rapture mingle in the last of songs!
Let all my many songs together join their different strains into a strong current
and flow into a sea of silence
in one united homage to thee!
Like a flock of home-sick cranes,
flying night and day back to their mountains,
back to their nests in the mountains,
let then all my life take its voyage
to its eternal home
in one united homage to thee!
