Hude viter vel'my v poli
Language: Ukrainian (Українська)
Hude viter vel'my v poli,
Reve, lis lamaje...
Plače kozak moloden'kyj,
Dolju proklynaje.

Hude viter vel'my v poli,
Reve, lis lamaje...
Kozak nudyt'sja, serdešnyj,
Ščo robyt', ne znaje.

Hude viter vel'my v poli,
Reve, lis lamaje...
Kozak stohne, bidolacha,
Sam sobi hadaje:

«Reveš, vitre, ta ne plačeš,
Bo tobi ne tjažko!
Ty ne znaješ v sviti horja,
Tak tobi j ne važko.

Tobi vse odno: čy v poli,
Čy de lis lamaješ,
Čy po morju chvylju honyš,
Čy kryši zdyraješ.

Solom’jani i zalizni,
Jaku de zustrineš,
Snihom ljudej zamitaješ,
V poli jak zastyhneš.

Odirvy ž od sercja tuhu,
Roznesy po polju,
Ščob ne plakavsja ja, bidnyj,
Na neščasnu dolju.

A koly c'oho ne zrobyš -
Kyn' mene u more:
Nechaj zo mnoju potone
Moje ljute hore!...»
