I give you the rose full of dewy splendour,
Beloved of the melodious singer of the night,
Who often hovers about her blushes [in the]1 moonlight,
Before whose song she trembled in bliss.
Oh, take the blooming rose from the bush,
Prolong her existence with a beautiful breath!
When your lovely singing sounds round her flowering,
She shall imagine that it is still the sound of the nightingale.
