Im Blumenhaine am [Bendemir]1 kosen 
Viel Nachtigallen den Tag entlang; 
Da saß ich ein träumendes Kind unter Rosen, 
Und lauschte dem süß mich umschwirrenden Sang. 
Den Hain und die Töne vergess' ich nimmer, 
Und denke, wenn [still der Lenz mich umblüht]2, 
Ob Bülbül am ruhigen [Bendemir]1 immer 
Noch singet, und immer die Rose noch glüht? 

Ach nein!  die Rosen am Ufer [verblichen]3, 
Doch pflückt' ich der Knospen im frischen Schein, 
Und sauge, wenn längst schon der Sommer entwichen, 
Noch duftenden Thau aus den Knospen ein: 
So [birgt]4 der Erinnerung bleichender Schimmer 
Noch Tropfen der Freude, die [längst verblüht]5,  
So steht vor der Seele mir glänzend noch immer 
Der Hain, der am ruhigen [Bendemir]1 blüht.
