     Feigen
Bot mir Erminé von grünen Zweigen,
Aber deren keine nahm ich an: -- --
Heilig, Allah, ist der Ramasan!

     Mandeln
Wollte die Verschmitzte mir verhandeln;
Solche Bosheit ist nicht wohlgethan:
Heilig, Allah, ist der Ramasan!

     Trauben

Durst'ge Lippen, schlürft euch satt daran:
Ende, Allah, meinen Ramasan!

Fasting
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
     Figs
From green branches Erminé offered me,
But I did not accept a single one: -- --
Holy, Allah, is Ramadan!

     Almonds
The mischievous one tried to persuade me to accept;
Such malice is not right:
Holy, Allah, is Ramadan!

     Grapes
She held to my lips -- can you believe it?
Wakening a wild manic thirst in me: --
Holy, Allah, is Ramadan!

     Nuts
The minx showed me: -- thereupon I stole kisses!
Thirsty lips, satiate yourself sipping there:
End, Allah, my Ramadan!
