To be near each other the entire night, to pass the time hand in hand, arm in arm, to feel so much that cannot be communicated, it is a wondrous agony. Ever to gaze, soul to soul, seeing the most secret wishes of the heart, to speak so little and understand so much, it is a lofty, martyring happiness. As reward for the time that has disappeared in this compulsion, then, is warmly, with delight, at daybreak to press mouth to mouth, and heart to heart - o this is - angelic bliss!
