Durch eine ganze Nacht sich [nahe]¹ seyn,
So Hand in Hand, so Arm [im]² Arme weilen,
So viel empfinden, ohne mitzutheilen -
Ist eine wonnevolle Pein!

So immer Seelenblick im Seelenblick
Auch den geheimsten Wunsch des Herzens sehen,
So wenig sprechen, und sich doch verstehen -
Ist hohes martervolles Glück!

Zum Lohn für die im Zwang [verschwundne]³ Zeit
Dann bey dem [Morgenstral, warm]⁴, mit Entzücken
[Sich]⁵ Mund an Mund, und Herz an Herz [sich]⁶ drücken -
O dieß ist - Engelseligkeit!

Sintiendo tantas cosas, sin poder contarlas,
es un tormento maravilloso.

es una excelsa, torturante felicidad.

En pago del tiempo desaparecido por obligación,
