Ich schell' mein Horn in Jammers Ton
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the Mittelhochdeutsch
Ich schell' mein Horn in Jammers Ton,
Mein Freud' ist mir verschwunden.
Ich hab' gejagt ohn' Abelon
Es lauft noch vor den Hunden
Ein edles G'wild
In diesem G'fild,
Als ich's hätt' auserkoren.
Es scheucht ab mir
Als ich es spür'.
Mein Jagen ist verloren,

Fahr hin Gewild, in Waldes Lust!
Ich will nit mehr erschrecken
Mit Jagen dein schneeweiße Brust.
Ein ander' mueß dich wecken
Und jagen frei
Mit Hundes Krei,
Da du nit magst entrinnen,
Halt dich in Huet,
Mein Tierlein guet!
Mit Leid scheid' ich von hinnen.
