Die Waise
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): CAT DUT ENG FRE
Der Frühling kehret wieder,
Und alles freuet sich,
Ich blicke traurig nieder,
Er kam ja nicht für mich.
Was soll mir armen Kinde
Des Frühlings Pracht und Glanz?
Denn wenn ich Blumen winde,
Ist es zum Totenkranz.
Ach! keine Hand geleitet
Mich heim ins Vaterhaus,
Und keine Mutter breitet
Die Arme nach mir aus.
Ich sah sie beide scheiden,
Mit ihnen schied mein Glück.
Bei mir blieb nur das Leiden
In dieser Welt zurück.
O Himmel, gib mir wieder,
Was deine Liebe gab --
Blick ich zur Erde nieder,
So seh ich nur ihr Grab.
R. Schumann sets stanzas 1-3, 5

L’òrfena
Language: Catalan (Català)  after the German (Deutsch)
Torna la primavera
i tot s’alegra,
jo abaixo tristament els ulls,
ella no arriba per a mi.
Què representa per a mi, pobre infant
l’esclat i l’esplendor de la primavera?
Car si jo entrellaço flors
és per a una corona de morts.
Ai, cap mà em condueix
a la casa del pare
i cap mare obre els seus braços
per rebre’m.
Els he vist anar-se’n tots dos
i amb ells la meva felicitat.
Tan sols resta el sofriment
per a mi en aquest món.
Oh cel, retorna’m
el que el teu amor em donà,
si abaixo els ulls cap a terra,
només veig la seva tomba.
