Und muß es schon wieder geschieden sein
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG

And if we are once more forced to part
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
And if we are once more forced to part,
Beloved, then go with God!
If only He is your protection, if only He is your part,
You are never forsaken!

And though there may be nothing more bitter than parting,
With God our bond remains firm!
And from afar, love shall quickly
Bring us together every hour!

Ah, if we are forced to part, to part now,
Beloved, then go with God!
Remain true to me in the meantime, until you return,
Farewell and do not forget me!
