دیگر در قلب خود نمی‌یابم شور و درخشش جوانی را؛ ای مایه‌ی رنج و عذاب من ای عشق، این، گناه تو است. تو که مرا می‌گزی، وجودم را می‌خراشی، نیشم می‌زنی، جانم را می‌فرسایی؛ آخر چه چیز است این افسوس؟ به حال من رحمی آور، رحمی، رحمی! همانا عشق، آن چیزی است که مرا به سوی نومیدی می‌کشاند.
