Wohl die alten Bäume wieder
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): DUT ENG
Wohl die alten Bäume wieder
Neigen ihre Wipfel nieder
Auf das Haus am Waldesrand.
Stille, stille! Laß mich lauschen!
Fernher tönt ein leises Rauschen:
Komm zurück in's Heimatland!

Wer soll meiner Liebe lohnen?
Dort wo fremde Menschen wohnen
Geh' ich nicht mehr ein und aus.
Droben in den Sternenräumen
Unter goldnen Himmelsbäumen
Wartet mein das Vaterhaus.

Mild weer buigen oude bomen
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)  after the German (Deutsch)
Mild weer buigen oude bomen
Nu hun toppen diep voorover
Naar het huis aan de bossenrand.
Stilte, stilte! Laat mij luist'ren!
Ver weg klinkt een heel zacht ruisen:
Kom terug naar 't vaderland!

Wie zal mij mijn liefde lonen?
Daar waar vreemde mensen wonen,
Loop ik niet meer in en uit.
Boven waar de sterren dromen,
Onder gouden hemelbomen
Wacht op mij het vaderhuis.
