Auf meinen Liebsten sollt ihr Achtung geben.
Sorgt, daß er tapfer sich im Feuer hält;
Er war noch nie im Kriege all sein Leben.
Lasst nie ihn unter freiem Himmel schlafen;
Er ist so zart, es möchte sich bestrafen.
Lasst mir ihn ja nicht schlafen unterm Mond;
Er ginge drauf, er ist's ja nicht gewohnt.

No el deixeu mai dormir a la intempèrie,

No me’l deixeu dormir sota la lluna,
es podria morir, no hi està acostumat.
