Иль песням пери молодой
Я в уповании внимаю.

Она поёт... и сердцу больно,
И душу что-то шевелит,
И скорбь невнятная томит,
И плакать хочется невольно.

Она поёт... и голос милый,
Тая дыханье, я ловлю,
И восхищаюсь, и люблю
Его звук томный и унылый!

Она поёт... и так умеет
И грусть и чувство выражать.
Что сердцу, кем тоска владеет,
Немудрено её понять!
