My darling and grape juice Share my heart's glow, And give spirit to my life: She is charming, it is good. My darling makes wine more valuable to me, She hands it to me in such a friendly way. My darling also shines more brightly When I am full of that nectar. My heart faces in two directions: I value both wine and my darling highly. If at any time one of them is absent The other one still offers comfort. I want to belong to both of them eternally, I swear this with a cheerful attitude. They encourage me to sing And bring about holy madness. Dare to take a look at my darling! Taste my vin de table! And, friends, share my delight And join in with my song of praise. This is how, without difficulty, I brighten up The course of my life every day. I am grateful to Bacchus for sweet sleep; Amor wakes me up again.
