Into which my heart was submerged;
Your red lips a blossoming calyx,
From which I drank love.
I drew it deep into my myself;
Drew in a world of joy
And with it a world of sorrow
Down into my bosom.
I shall never comprehend it
That, when a heart embraces
So much joy, so much sorrow,
It does not break under the burden.
That quietly within itself it
Bears the entire abundance,
That in all the bliss, all the agony
