V temnote muzhika Smert` obnimaet, laskaet, S p`yanen`kim plyashet vdvoyom trepaka, Na uxo pesn` napevaet: Oj, muzhichok, starichok ubogoj, P`yan napilsya, poplyolsya dorogoj, A myatel`-to, ved`ma, podnyalas`, vzy'grala. S polya v les dremuchij nevznachaj zagnala. Gorem, toskoj da nuzhdoj tomimy'j, Lyag, prikorni, da usni, rodimy'j! YA tebya, golubchik moj, snezhkom sogreyu, Vkrug tebya velikuyu igru zateyu. Vzbej-ka postel`, ty' myatel`-lebyodka! Gej, nachinaj, zapevaj pogodka! Skazku, da takuyu, chtob vsyu noch` tyanulas`, Chtob p`yanchuge krepko pod neyo zasnulos`! Oj, vy' lesa, nebesa, da tuchi, Tem`, veterok, da snezhok letuchij! Svejtes` pelenoyu, snezhnoj, puxovoyu; Eyu, kak mladencza, starichka prikroyu...
