Alles still!
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  FRE
Alles still! es tanzt den Reigen
Mondenstrahl in Wald und Flur
Und darüber thront das Schweigen
Und der Winterhimmel nur.

Alles still! vergeblich lauschet
Man der Krähe heisrem Schrei.
Keiner Fichte Wipfel rauschet,
Und kein Bächlein summt vorbei.

Alles still! die Dorfeshütten
Sind wie Gräber anzusehn,
Die, von Schnee bedeckt, inmitten
Eines weiten Friedhofs stehn.

Alles still! nichts hör ich klopfen
Als mein Herze durch die Nacht -
Heiße Tränen niedertropfen
Auf die kalte Winterpracht.

Tout est silence !
Language: French (Français)  after the German (Deutsch)
Tout est silence ! En forêt et campagne,
Le clair de lune fait la ronde,
Et par-dessus, seul règne le silence
Et le ciel d'hiver.

Tout est silence ! On guette en vain
Le cri rauque des corneilles.
Pas une cime de sapin ne bruit,
Aucun ruisseau ne chantonne.

Tout est silence ! Les cabanes du village
Sont comme des tombes
Recouvertes de neige qui se dressent
Au milieu d'un vaste cimetière.

Tout est silence ! Je n'entends rien d'autre
Que mon cœur qui bat dans la nuit ;
De chaudes larmes coulent et tombent
Sur la froide splendeur de l'hiver.
