Ihr Grab
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations: CAT DUT ENG FRE
Dort ist ihr Grab -
Die einst im Schmelz der Jugend [glühte]1,
Dort fiel sie - dort - die schönste Blüthe
Vom Baum des Lebens ab.
Dort ist ihr Grab -
Dort schläft sie unter jener Linde.
Ach! nimmer ich ihn wiederfinde
Den Trost, den sie mir gab!
Dort ist ihr Grab -
Vom Himmel kam sie, daß die Erde
Mir Glücklichen zum Himmel werde -
Und dort stieg sie hinab.
Dort ist ihr Grab
Und dort in jenen stillen Hallen, -
Bei ihr, laß ich mit Freuden fallen
Auch meinen Pilgerstab.

Her grave
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
There is her grave,
Who once glowed in the radiance of youth,
There she fell, the most beautiful flower,
From the tree of life.
There is her grave,
There she sleeps under that linden tree
Oh, I will never find it,
The comfort which she gave me
There is her grave,
She came from Heaven, so that the Earth
I will seem as joyful as heaven,
And there she alit.
There is her grave,
And there in those peaceful halls
Next to her, I gladly let fall
My pilgrim's staff, too.
