Der bleiche Heinrich ging vorbei, Schön Hedwig lag am Fenster. Sie sprach halblaut: »Gott steh mir bei, Der unten schaut bleich wie Gespenster!« Der unten erhebt sein Aug in die Höh, Hinschmachtend nach Hedewigs Fenster. Schön Hedwig ergriff es wie Liebesweh, Auch sie ward bleich wie Gespenster. Schön Hedwig stand nun mit Liebesharm Tagtäglich lauernd am Fenster. Bald aber lag sie in Heinrichs Arm, Allnächtlich zur Zeit der Gespenster.
