The morns are meeker than they were
Language: English
Available translation(s): FRE GER GER ITA
The morns are meeker than they were,
The nuts are getting brown;
The berry's cheek is plumper,
The rose is out of town.

The maple wears a gayer scarf,
The field a scarlet gown.
Lest I should be old-fashioned,
I'll put a trinket on.

Herbst
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the English
Die Früh' gedämpfter als zuvor,
die Nüsse brauner schon;
der Beere Wange runder,
die Rose ist geflohn.

Der Ahorn trägt den buntern Schal,
die Flur ein rot Gewand.
Dass ich nicht altmodisch bin,
leg ich ein Schmuckstück an.
