Die Mondnacht
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT DUT ENG FRE
Siehe wie die Mondesstrahlen
Busch und Flur in Silber mahlen!
Wie das Bächlein rollt und flimmt!
Strahlen regnen, Funken schmettern
Von den sanftgeregten Blättern,
Und die Thauflur glänzt und glimmt.
Glänzend erdämmern der Berge Gipfel,
Glänzend der Pappeln wogende Wipfel.

Durch die [glanzberauschten]1 Räume
Flüstern Stimmen, gaukeln Träume
Sprechen mir vertraulich zu.
Seligkeit, die mich gemahnet,
Höchste Lust, die süß mich schwanet,
Sprich, wo blühst, wo zeitigst du?
Sprenge die Brust nicht mächtiges [Dehnen]2;
Löschet die Wehmuth, labende Thränen.

Wie, ach wie der Qual genesen?
Wo, ach wo ein liebend Wesen,
Das die süßen Qualen stillt?
Eins ins andre gar versunken,
Gar verloren, gar ertrunken,
Bis sich jede Oede füllt -
Solches, ach, wähn' ich, kühlte das Sehnen;
Löschte die Wehmuth mit köstlichen Thränen.

Eine weiß ich, ach nur Eine,
Dich nur weiß ich, dich o Reine,
Die des Herzens Wehmuth meint.
Dich umringend, von dir umrungen,
Dich umschlingend, von dir umschlungen,
Gar in Eins mit dir geeint - -
Schon', ach schone den Wonneversunknen.
Himmel und Erde verschwinden dem Trunknen.

De maannacht
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)  after the German (Deutsch)
Kijk eens, hoe door manestralen
Bos en veld in zilver pralen!
Hoe het beekje rolt en danst.
Stralen reeg'nen, vonken schaat'ren
Van de zacht bewogen blaad'ren,
En 't bedauwde landschap glanst.
Lichtend verscheem'ren de Alpenkoppen,
Lichtend de wuivende peppeltoppen.

Door de ruimte, die glanst volkomen,
Fluist'ren stemmen, wieg'len dromen,
Spreken zacht, intiem, tot mij.
Zaligheid die mij gemaand heeft,
Hoogste lust, die zoete waan geeft,
Spreek, waar bloei, ontbolster jij?
Breek toch mijn hart niet, machtig begeren!
Lavende tranen, kom weemoed keren!

Hoe, ach, hoe hiervan genezen?
Waar, ach, waar een minnend wezen,
Dat mijn zoete kwelling stilt?
D' een in d' andere gans verzonken,
Gans verloren, gans verdronken,
Tot zich elke leegte vult...
Zoiets, ach, dacht ik, koelde 't verlangen,
Doofd' ook de weemoed, in tranen gevangen.

Ene weet ik, ach, slechts ene,
Jou slechts weet ik, jou, serene,
Die mijn treurend hart doorgrondt.
Jou omwindend, door jou omwonden,
Jou verslindend, door jou verslonden,
Vast met jou in één verbond...
Spaar, ach, spaar d' in extase verzonk'ne!
Hemel en aarde ontsnappen de dronk'ne.
