Herbst
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
Der du die Wälder färbst,
Sonniger, milder Herbst,
Schöner als Rosenblüh'n
Dünkt mir dein sanftes Glüh'n.

Nimmermehr Sturm und Drang,
Nimmermehr Sehnsuchtsklang;
Leise nur athmest du
Tiefer Erfüllung Ruh'.

Aber vernehmbar auch
Klaget ein scheuer Hauch,
Der durch die Blätter weht:
Daß es zu Ende geht.

Autumn
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
Color the forests all,
sunny and gentle fall,
Fairer than roses grow
seems your indulgent glow.

No longer storm and urge,
no longer passion's surge.
Delicate leave the breast
sighs of contented rest.

Silence is softly rent
but by a shy lament:
Wafting through leaves a sigh,
telling the end is nigh.
