How can I, that girl standing there,
My attention fix
On Roman or on Russian
Or on Spanish politics?
Yet here's a travelled man that knows
What he talks about,

fissare l'attenzione
sulla politica Romana o Russa
o su quella Spagnola?

che ha letto e riflettuto,
e può darsi sia vero quanto dicono
sulla guerra e sugli allarmi di guerra,
ma... Potessi tornare giovane,
e stringerla fra le braccia!
