Himmel und Erde
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): CAT DUT ENG FRE
Wie der Bäume kühne Wipfel
Zu des Lichtes Höhen streben!
Wie der Berge greise Gipfel
In des Himmels Wolken schweben!

Wie im Mai der Wiesen Blühen
Mit des Äthers Blau verschwimmet!
Wie der Wälder herbstlich Glühen
In des Frührots Licht verglimmet!

O so seid ihr denn Verwandte,
Himmel du und Mutter Erde!
Freudig trag ich irdsche Bande,
Da ich dein, O Himmel, werde!

Hemel en aarde
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)  after the German (Deutsch)
Zie de bomen met hun toppen
Naar de lichte hoogten streven,
Zie de bergen met hun koppen
In de hemelwolken zweven!

Zie in mei het weidebloeien
Met het etherblauw zich mengen!
Zie de wouden herfst'lijk gloeien,
't Ochtendrood daar licht in brengen!

O, verwant zijn dus uw landen,
Hemel hoog en moeder aarde!
Vrolijk draag ik aardse banden,
'k Kom bij u, o hemelgaarde!
