Mit Mädeln sich vertragen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT DUT ENG FRE ITA
Mit Mädeln sich vertragen,
Mit Männern 'rumgeschlagen,
Und mehr Credit als Geld;
So kommt man durch die Welt.

Mit vielem läßt sich schmausen;
Mit wenig läßt sich hausen;
Daß wenig vieles sey,
Schafft nur die Lust herbei.

Will sie sich nicht bequemen,
So müßt ihr's eben nehmen.
Will einer nicht vom Ort,
So jagt ihn g'rade fort.

Laßt alle nur mißgönnen,
Was sie nicht nehmen können,
Und seid von Herzen froh;
Das ist das A und O.

So fahret fort zu dichten,
Euch nach der Welt zu richten.
Bedenkt in Wohl und Weh
Dieß goldne A B C.

De meisjes laten lachen
NOTE: the footnotes have been removed from this text; return to general view
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)  after the German (Deutsch)
De meisjes laten lachen,
Met mannen lekker raggen,
Betalen met krediet:
Dan ben je 'n hele piet.

Lol kan je alles geven,
Met weinig valt te leven:
Dat weinig alles wordt,
Dat is de leukste sport.

Wil zij zich soms niet schikken,
Dan moet zij maar eens slikken.
Is die vent koppig, zeg,
Dan jaag je hem maar weg.

Laat allen maar misgunnen
Wat zij niet krijgen kunnen,
En wees steeds goed geluimd:
Dan word je wel gepruimd.

Dus ga maar door met dichten,
Je naar 't publiek te richten.
Onthoud in wel en wee
Dit gouden ABC.
