Möchten sonst die Mädchen von mir sagen,
Wenn sie einmal mich den Müttern zeigen:
"Mutter, sieh' aus dem Gesträuch den Bären!"
Oder: "Sieh' den Hasen aus dem Kraute!"

Otherwise the maidens may say of me
