kvarnhjulet går,
dufvorna leka i skummet.

Gamla hjulet, 
som stilla står,
har fått lemna rummet.

Öfvervuxet 
med vildros, nött,
urblekt af vind och af väder,

tänker det: 
»Nu är jag trött
gladde edra fäder!«
