Beveano ingorde le zolle assetate.

Esser pianta, esser foglia, esser stelo
E nell'angoscia dell'ardor (pensavo)
Così largo ristoro aver dal cielo!

Sul davanzal protesa io gli arboscelli,
I fiori, l'erbe guardavo guardavo
E mi battea la pioggia sui capelli.

Regen

Es regnete: Durch die Fenster, 
jener Leichtigkeit durchdringender Aromen weit eröffnet,
steigen aus dem Garten frische Lüfte auf, 
die Düfte neu erblühter Kräuter, Blumen tragen.

Der Farben Aufruhr legte sich
unter dem Schleier der erflehten Tropfen,
und um Pappeln, Eschen, Lorbeerbäume
trinkt mit Gier der durst’ge Rasen.

Pflanze, Blatt und Halm zu sein,
und in beängstigender Glut (nehme ich an)
so großzügig vom Himmel erfrischt zu werden!

Über die Fensterbank lehnt’ ich hinaus,
schaute, blickt’ auf die jungen Bäume,
Blumen, Kräuter,
und es prasselte der Regen mir aufs Haar.
