Despierta, despierta, oh joven compaña, has dormido mucho tiempo. ¡Fuera los pájaros cantan alegremente y el carretero alborota en las callejuelas! ¡Despierta, despierta! Con voz clara ha empezado a dar voces el vigilante. Cuando dos amantes están juntos, han de ser muy juiciosos. El muchacho tenía mucho sueño. Durmió tanto, tan dulcemente… pero la doncella fue sabia ¡y lo despertó con sus besos! La despedida, la despedida es necesaria. Es tan dura como la muerte, que separa también muchas bocas enrojecidas y a muchos tiernos amantes. El muchacho saltó sobre su corcel y se alejó de allí al trote ligero. La doncella lo miró durante un largo rato. ¡Gran pena la atenazaba!
