Les canards, les cygnes, les oies,
Qui sont venus de Savoie,
Dorment à la belle étoile…
On leur a fait un beau lit,
Tout le monde s’y est mis,
La punais s’aidait aussi,
Le pou, trop haut perché,
La têt’ lui a tourné.
Est tombé sur le derrière,
S’est fait mal contre un’ pierre,
A faille s’évanouir,
Et, dans un grand soupir:
“Mon Dieu! Mon Dieu! Je vais mourir.”

Eenden zwanen ganzen

Menig eend en gans en zwaan
Vloog uit ver Savooien aan.
Voor’t  onder sterren slapen gaan  
Was hun een heerlijk bed bereid,
Elkeen had zich daar neergevlijd.
Maar ook de bedwants fixte wat
En toen een luis, hoog neergestreken
Hem met de nek had aangekeken
Viel die plotseling op zijn gat
Zijn kont raakte aan een kei gewond
Warempel, hij viel bijna flauw
En zuchtte in zijn grote nood:
“Mijn God, mijn hemel, ik ga dood!”
