Auf der Lüfte linden Schwingen Kehrt der holde Lenz zurück; Alles wird er wiederbringen, Alle Lust und alles Glück. In dem dunkeln Hain, Selig, traut allein, Tönen neu die alten Lieder -- Wann, ach wann kehrst du mir wieder! Wenn die kleinen Schwalben fliehen Unser traulich stilles Dach, Möchte ich beflügelt ziehen In die fernsten Lande nach. J'aime à suivre dans la plaine les sentiers les plus déserts, loin du bruit je m'y promène, j'aime l'ombre des bois verts. Au pied du coteau, au bord du ruisseau un penser toujours m'assiège ; quand ? ah ! quand te reverrai-je ? Sur les ailes du Zéphyre le printemps revient en fleurs ; tout renait et tout respire, il ramène le bonheur. Tout au fond des bois mille jeunes voix ont repris leur vieux solfèges. Quand, ah ! quand te reverrai-je ? Quand s'en vont les hirondelles délaissant notre humble toit, je voudrais, ouvrant mes ailes, m'envoler aussi vers toi. Pour me reposer rien qu'un seul baiser, et je brave vents et neige. Quand, ah ! quand te reverrai-je ? Du ruisseau quand l'onde roule vers la mer sans s'arrêter, de mes yeux les larmes coulent et ne veulent pas sécher. Quoi ! toujours absent ! Ah ! mon cœur se fend, rien mon front brulant n'allège.
