Henrykkelse
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Our translations:  GER
Du glade Fugl, som flyver!
I høie Træer, som suse!
Og I, Smådyr, som krybe
Med eders Sneglehuse!

Jeg kunde eder favne,
Jeg kunde eder trykke
Til Hjertet — så beruset,
Så vild er jeg af Lykke.

Ældgamle Eeg, som over
Mit Hovede dig hælder,
O, du vil glædes med mig,
Du vil, når jeg fortæller —

At hun igår, iaftes,
Da tusind Stjerner brændte,
Og Melkeveien lyste,
Mig disse Roser sendte —

Og at om Stilken viklet
Var et Papir, en Strimmel —
Så rød og gjennemsigtig
Som denne Aftenhimmel.

Modernized form of the text:

Jeg kunne eder favne,

Ældgamle eg, som over

at hun igår, iaftes,

var et papir, en strimmel —
så rød og gennemsigtig
som denne aftenhimmel.

Entzücken
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the Danish (Dansk)
Ihr Vögel froh, die fliegen!
Ihr Bäume hoch, die sausen!
Ihr Krabbeltier', ihr kleinen,
Mit eurem Schneckenhause!

Ich könnte euch umarmen,
Ich könnt' ans Herz euch drücken,
So sehr bin ich berauschet,
So wild bin ich vor Glücke.

Du alte Eich', die über
Mein'm Haupt ehrwürdig raget,
Oh, wie wirst du dich freuen
Mit mir, wenn ich dir sage -

Daß gestern sie, am Abend,
Als Milchstraß' hoch sich spannte,
Und tausend Sterne glühten,
Mir diese Rosen sandte -

Und um die Stiel' gewunden
Ein Stück Papier - so feine,
So gläsern rot entzunden
Wie dieses Himmels Scheine.
