صدای نسیم را می‌شنوی که گویی به شیرینی آه می‌کشد،
هنگامی که شاخ و برگ‌ها را لرزانده و می‌گریزد؟
اگر سخنش را دریابی، با تو از عشق می‌گوید.

پالاده:
صدای گرفته‌ی موج را می‌شنوی که بی قرار و سرگردان در حرکت است،
هنگامی که با خروش و ناله بر ساحل می‌ساید، آن را شسته و پس می‌کشد؟
اگر سخنش را دریابی، از عشق شکوه می‌کند.

هر دو:
هر که عشق و احساسی چنین را در دل چشیده باشد،
