Sur les eaux lisses des mers sans fin,
vêtu de la pourpre du crépuscule,
il chante et nous prévient,
mais n'a pas la force de soulever ses ailes affaiblies.
Il nous prévient contre le joug des Tartares,
il prédit des horribles bains de sang,
des tremblements de terre, la famine, et le feu,
le pouvoir des scélérats, la destruction des innocents...
À l'annonce des horribles terreurs,
la beauté de son visage s'embrase d'amour
mais l'effroyable prophétie résonne
de ses lèvres, souillées de sang...
