Vibreu, sons de la meva cítara, eleveu-vos amunt amb ales lleugeres; a través del reixat coronat de parra, esquitlleu-vos dins la cambra de l’estimada. “És que no hi ha, estimada Dolores” Canteu així en el seu somni – “Al pavelló de la teva orella lloc per a paraules com perles? Penseu en el fullatge, densament tofut, on, envoltada de flairosos matolls, tremolàveu d’èxtasi, com les fulles al vostre damunt! El lloc, però, era silent i segur, cap testimoni ens espià; estrany, que un ocell nocturn fes fressa a través del fullatge.
