Salve Maria, mare de gràcia! Així cantaren els àngels a la Verge Maria mentre ella s’esforçava en la seva pregària. Maria, tu has de concebre un fill, i després, el cel i la terra exigiran que siguis la Mare del Senyor. Oh àngels, com puc experimentar això, encara no m’he donat a cap home en aquest ampli i extens món. Tal com la rosada cau damunt les prades florides, l’Esperit Sant et cobrirà amb la seva ombra i d’aquesta manera naixerà el Salvador. De grat escoltà això Maria, i digué: jo sóc la serventa del Senyor, que es faci en mi segons la seva paraula! Els àngels caigueren de genolls, tots cantaren: Maria, Maria, cantaren lloances a Maria.
