О, ночь полуденного края,
Полна ты мощной красотой,
По небу тихо пролетая
Над очарованной землей.
Горя, как жемчугом, звездами,
Ты ароматом облита,
Прозрачно-синими тенями
Ты, словно дымкой, обвита;
И, как над зеркалом, склоняясь
Над гладью моря голубой,
Залюбовалась ты собой,
Нарядом пышным облекаясь...
Скажи, богиня, для кого
Ты в ризы брачные одета?
Ты ждешь ли друга своего
Порфироносного рассвета,
Чтоб, полон дерзостных надежд,
Он, как дрожащими устами,
Твоих лазуревых одежд
Коснулся алыми лучами;
Чтоб лучезарный, юный бог
С тебя покров сорвал, ликуя,
И тело смуглое зажег
Могучим зноем поцелуя;
Чтоб вся бледнея, вся дрожа,
Ты отдалась ему мятежно,
Как вешний цвет фиалки нежной,
Благоуханна и свежа;
Чтоб ты с улыбкой тихо тая
