Noch kaum ein Fischlein springen will.
Am Bänkchen schon, in Rohr und Ried,
Ein Wäschermägdlein emsig kniet.

O Jugendblut, kaum fünfzehn Jahr,
Verschlafen noch ihr Augenpaar,
Das Röckchen dürftig, hochgeschürzt,
Mit Singen sie die Zeit sich kürzt.

"Am jüngsten Tag ich aufersteh' 
Und gleich nach meinem Liebsten seh',
und wenn ich ihn nicht finden kann,
leg' wieder mich zum Schlafen dann.

"O Herzeleid, du Ewigkeit!
Selbander nur ist Seligkeit!
