Vor der Schmiede fern im Wald Dorten hält ein Reiter; Von des Rosses Huf erschallt Leises Hämmern weiter. Stille wird's jetzt in der Rund', Rasch verstummt der Hammer; Reiter durch den stillen Grund Trabt vor Liebchens Kammer. Sonntagsfrühe wunderbar, Und der Wald so eigen, Und der Himmel blau und klar, Tiefes, tiefes Schweigen.
