Am Brunnen hab' ich gestanden Und wusste nicht wie mir war, Das Wasser rann über den Eimer, Und ich ward's nicht gewahr. Ich sah in die dunkle Tiefe, Es fielen die Thränen hinab. Was weiss der tiefe Brunnen, Daß ich geweinet hab'? Er hat mir Lieb' versprochen, Und kommt doch nimmermehr. Ich trag' die Eimer zu heime, Die Last ist gar zu schwer.
